Literature Text

Smile that cheesy smile of yours
You think you're so funny
You think that the world wants to kiss your feet
Wants you to save them every time they're in distress
And praise you once you've saved them

I don't

You've never smiled that tacky smile of yours at me
Shared a comical story with me
Saved me when I was suffering

Well I don't need you

I can smile a goofy smile at myself in the mirror
I can secretly giggle with myself at corny jokes
I can save myself when I'm in pain

I may not be champion of the world

But at least I can be my own hero
Hero, #68 of Variation 1 of 100 Theme Challenge

I think the ending is a bit awkward. Any suggestions to improve it?

The ending is obvious and cliche your right. I think you need to end with some kind of image or action of you saving yourself.

I.E. I stop that train myself even I am the one tied to the tracks.

Actually I would up the heroic imagery more. That is where you can use the cliches of what a superhero is to great effect. Very lovely start though.
